  • e) Advocacy and lobbying on the domestication, and enactment of Conventions and Legislations that protect and enhance the welfare and status of women/girls and children.
  • f) Advocating against trafficking of women and children, all forms of violence against women/girls and the need for educating the girl child.
  • g) Promote the principles of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights Etc.
  • h) LAW also works on peace-building projects; building the capacity of traditional leaders, conflict resolution committee members, peacekeepers, and civil society.
  • i) Enhance the status of women by effectively pursuing the following priority themes:
  • (a) Equality
  • (b) Development
  • (c) Education
  • Reproductive health rights
  • Support for “Aids” programs
  • (g) Abolition of harmful traditional practice, inimical to the welfare of women and children, through primary health care
  • (h) Protection of women and children against violence in the family, workplace and supporting programs for the achievement of world peace.

LAW follows closely, the legal, economic and social position of women and children and directs the efforts of the membership towards securing better conditions through improved legislation and other visible ways:

  • Fight against all forms of violence against women and girls
  • Fights against all forms of Discrimination against women and girls
  • Urges political and civil equality of rights for women;
  • Encourages greater participation of women in public office;
  • Arranges conferences and forum discussions on Women and gender questions.
  • Engaged men and boys as activists to end violence against women and girls through the He For She campaign.
